Ms. Flewelling, at the Early Childhood Center, was able to use her Young Athletes grant from us to host the Special Olympics. This was nearly two years in the making, since the grant was awarded in fall 2019. Thanks for sticking with it! As she wrote in her application, this project bought equipment for students ages 3-11 years with and without disabilities/special needs. The equipment provides the students with a variety of fun activities to to engage them in motor skills such as balancing, throwing to a target, kicking to a target and motor planning, as well as developing social skills and team work.
