Sara Moore, Co-President
Sara Moore was born and raised in Maryland and has spent most of her life in the Washington, D.C. area. With degrees in sociology from Shepherd University, The New School, and George Mason University, Sara is a product of primarily public schools. She is currently an Associate Professor of Sociology at Salem State University where she teaches classes on gender, sexuality, health and well-being, family life, and activism. With a background in community-based participatory research, Sara has worked with diverse communities on community-led research efforts around issues like civic engagement, health equity, and education.

Sara is a passionate advocate for social justice and brings this commitment to her work on the City of Salem’s Food Policy Council and Board of Health. Sara also serves as a board member for Voices Against Injustice. She lives in Salem with her husband, Zeke, and their daughter, Emerson, who attends the Horace Mann Laboratory School.
