Ellie Rounds Bloom, Board member

Ellie Rounds Bloom didn't think she wanted to be a teacher, but after graduating from Mount Holyoke College, she started her career as a special education teacher in St. John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana. After teaching there for three years, she moved back to Boston and continued teaching at two charter schools. She received her Masters in Special Education from Simmons College and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Special Education Administration from UMass Boston, and worked as a special education administrator at a third charter school in Boston and then at Chelsea High School. In 2012, she joined the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education where she currently works in the Federal Grants Office. She has lived in Salem since 2015 with her wife and two sons.
