Katerina Thompson, Board Member

Katerina is originally from Greece and currently lives in Salem with her family. Her children have attended Salem Public Schools and have benefited from having amazing teachers and programs. She enjoys reading, going for walks, connecting with friends, dancing, and fly fishing. Katerina Thompson is the VP of HR and Corporate Strategy for a local business. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Developmental Disabilities from North Shore Community College and a Bachelor Degree in English and Psychology from Salem State University. She is a first-generation university graduate and an advocate for providing opportunities for all students to reach their goals.

She is a strong believer in education as a valuable tool to success and recognizes the need to contribute in a more meaningful way to assist teachers and students of our public schools. She has served as a PTO president for a Salem public school, as well as, the president of the Parent Advisory Council for Special Education in Salem. She has volunteer for the ARC and has taught two classes to enrich the lives of the students. She is a long-time volunteer of the Book Buddy group that promotes love of reading for fifth graders and preschoolers in Salem. She is an advisory board member of The Women’s Fund of Essex County, and the Philoptochos Athena organization.
